Missions

THE TASK AHEAD
There are 11,490 people groups in the world today. Of these, approximately 6,700 are identified as having less than two percent evangelical Christians. In addition, 3,000 people groups are considered unengaged meaning no one is attempting to reach them with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Consequently, there are approximately 2.8 billion people who have never heard of the hope of the gospel and about 1 billion whom no one is attempting to reach.
YOUR ROLE
Pray. Pray for our work with our partners and the people groups we are trying to reach with the gospel. Pray for our teams that travel to these partnerships.
Serve. Our Jail Ministry team goes to the local jail in Monroe on Sunday mornings at 9:00-10:00 am. Contact the office or Stacy Phillipus or David Foreman to volunteer.
Go. The GA Baptist Disaster Relief program provides many opportunities to be the “hands and feet of Jesus”. When a tragedy occurs many have a desire to help others. Check out how you can go and serve with this mission based partnership:
Give. There are several ways to support our partners financially.
  • Annie Armstrong Easter Offering – 100% of your gift goes directly to the North American Mission Board who serves a diverse and complex region including all of North America, U.S. territories of Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Guam and American Samoa which is comprised of 363 million people with 350 languages and 14 religions. •  Lottie Moon Christmas Offering – 100% of your gift goes directly to International Mission Board (IMB) missionaries on the field which includes 3,673 missionaries reaching 847 people groups since 1888. To find out more about Lottie Moon and the Christmas Offering click:Lottie Moon
  • Team Support – The majority of our teams that travel to support our partners do so by raising money to fund their trip. Consider giving to individuals that travel to support our partners.

BACKPACKS FOR APPALACHIA ~ A National Mission Event

In 2021 our mission team delivered 907 backpacks to children in Appalachia! Here are photos of the backpack packing party ~ thank you volunteers!

BACKPACKS FOR APPALACHIA ~ A National Mission Event 2020

The mission team delivered over 522 backpacks and 931 care packages. In the past, when the backpacks are delivered to each school, all of the children, faculty and school staff gather and the team prayed with them and performed a short skit to tell them about salvation and how much Jesus loves them. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the team was not permitted to do this. So with much hard work and creativity a video was filmed. Here are a few photos the trip and the video blooper movie.Backpack Mission Video-BLOOPERS
